WebMar 16, 2015 · It was in good shape and was obviously getting water. I checked the pee hose coming off the engine and it was clogged with some kind of dirt. Got it out and put it back together thinking I fixed the issue. It still didn't pee on muffs or in a tank. I dropped the lower AGAIN and checked the water pump. It was in good shape still. WebJun 21, 2007 · The thermostats on these motors get clogged with sand pretty easily. Very easy to replace but you will need the kit with the new gasket. They also sell stainless steel replacement thermstats. That's what I plan to put in next time around as the brass ones seem to corrode.
